Description
This roundtable presents insights on academic integrity, AI, and Indigenous Studies. Featuring teacher-researchers from the discipline of Indigenous Studies, the panel outlines the key challenges relating to academic integrity and AI in the context of disciplinary knowledge and pedagogies already aligned to bias and equity. A core concern of Indigenous Studies is the unequal distribution of knowledge between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, requiring reflexivity and literacy in assessing sources. The panel discusses strategies to academic integrity that build on already existing pedagogical and assessment design practices as well as the newer challenges to information integrity regarding First Nations that are bought about by AI.
