Description

From reflection:
This ‘grey area’ in regard to scope of practice for nurses has been on my mind. This combined with my belief that registered nurses should have a higher level of life support skills then the Basic Life Support (BLS) that is the current requirements. I would like to examine these issues further.
To add to this, one student said that when she was on placement, that one of the nurses went through all the drugs on the resuscitation trolley with her which she thought was great. I would like to integrate this knowledge further into this subject. The drugs are all covered, but within there classes, but it would probably be helpful to have a page/ activity dedicated to the drugs on this trolley.
Arrest situations can be very stressful, and they are even more stressful if you are not confident about what the drugs are for. If I can implement this knowledge in a clear way, it will give the students more confidence during arrest situations.
