This public lecture reviewed Australian art between 1945 and 1960.

Synopsis: "Australian art transformed after the Second World War. In this lecture we will meet hoaxers, deport a poet, stare down deadly criminals and survive a journey through dangerous and surreal landscapes. Once back in the city, we will test the limits of portraiture, and ask the Antipodeans where we stand."
