Description

Discussions around invasive species management in Australia have become increasingly divisive and controversial. In this webinar, Dr Alexandra Knight and Dr Jen Bond will explore these human-invasive species conflicts, noting the human relationships and processes which underpin and reinforce them. Focussing particularly on feral horse and deer management in North East Victoria and southern NSW, this webinar will unpack the multitude of social elements, including the differing narratives, community perceptions and cultural values, which lead to ongoing friction and ineffective management. In so doing, insight into the contributions that social sciences can make to environmental management will be elucidated.
