Description
The Early Childhood Educator Well-being Project [ECEWP] team held a stakeholder consultation day as part of our ongoing program of research. This event follows the successful piloting of an innovative model for holistically assessing educators' well-being using psychometric (via online survey) and biometric measures, together with measures of work environment quality.Eleven industry partners contributed to the pilot research by allowing recruitment for the study amongst their staff. This included educators who volunteered for holistic assessments of their well-being (n=80) and managers / directors of occupational health and safety or human resources in larger early childhood education [ECE] providers (n=8) who gave interviews about their organisation's approaches to educators’ well-being.
The stakeholder event capitalised on the existing commitment of the sector, as well as indicative interest in the potential of our work to improve educators' well-being gained from publication and presentation of our research. The aim of the stakeholder consultation day was to present findings and seek input from the early childhood education sector to guide our planned Linkage application later in 2019. We will also provide information on how attendee organisations could be involved in the application, and set an agenda and timeline for next steps.
