Description
A team of CSU researchers secured a grant from Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) Donor Company (MDC) for the project titled "Breaking Down Barriers for Cattle Producers to Access Business Value from Their Data," in partnership with TerraCipher. The project focused on developing a "Cattle Weight Predictor," a high-quality data analytics algorithm designed to address data discrepancies in cattle weighing techniques and manage erroneous data for more rapid and impactful outcomes. Six producers, representing seven different farms, participated in the project by sharing their data. The dataset used for analysis included over 45,000 individual weight records from more than 3,200 unique cattle. The algorithm was hosted on Shaipup (industry partner TerraCipher’s online portal), an intellectual property protection platform, making it accessible to the industry. This project enhances data quality across the red meat industry, enabling stakeholders to make confident, data-driven decisions.Period | 2023 → … |
