Speaker: Professor Anna Shillabeer, Head of School, School of Computing Mathematics & Engineering.

Topic outline: It is not enough to have done the research; it must be known that we have done it. Our Head of School for SoCME will discuss why it is essential to be visible, the challenges and rewards of visibility for our study, how to overcome personal invisibility, and why research Mavericks (almost always) don’t get promoted.
