    Description

Co-edited and curated the journal Fusion #4 edition, online CSU art journal, published in August 2014. I entitled the journal theme - The Town and the City - to focus on regionalism, and the relationship between journal papers and creative works submissions in the regional sector compared to metropolitan based arts. This was international in perspective, and encouraged and received submissions worldwide. I expansively peer-reviewed and selected journal papers and exhibition work: photographic, and video/sound based, in curating this issue. This aligned with my research into regional and metropolitan curatorial mandates across the art gallery/museum sector. It developed new knowledge in greatly diversifying the visual creative works submissions, and sound works, encouraged for submission in creative works online publication.

fusion is an international, online scholarly journal for the communication, creative industries and media arts disciplines. Co-founded by the Faculty of Arts, Charles Sturt University (Australia) and the College of Arts, University of Lincoln (UK), fusion publishes refereed articles, creative works and other practice-led forms of output.

My Editorial encompassed these themes of critical regionalism, and otherness. It addressed globalisation and its impact upon the image-culture and art-culture within regional/rural arts practice. My curation advanced new knowledge towards the discourse regarding the provincial, and contested the accepted persuasions that rural areas produce only narrow art due to their disengagement from the capital centres. My editorial/curatorial assertion was towards the scope of innovative curatorial activity that has emerged from regional centres, not only worldwide, but in the Australian model.
