Description
I am supervising several IT projects which are participated by the final year students of the School of Computing, Mathematics, and Engineering. We invited IBM, Axiom Connected, LiveBetter, Bathurst Regional Council to invite our final year IT students to conduct IT project where we will try to solve any challenges or problem they are facing. We received positive feedback from all and they offered various projects to solve some of their issues. The research activities in those projects span across various domains. Below is a summary of the activities of some of the projects:
1. Drawing Database for Bathurst Regional Council:
The project aims to design, develop, and integrate a new database for storing and retrieving drawings and plans. I contribute in researching on database technologies compatible with the Microsoft Office environment, focusing on security measures, data allocation, and high availability.
2. Knowledge Management for Public Sector Project Management Office (PMO) of IBM:
This project is evaluating Document Knowledge Management applications and tools. I contribute to conduct a thorough analysis of different features and functionalities, aligning them with the specific requirements of the PMO. Based on research findings, the project will prepare a business case and make recommendations for the most suitable Knowledge Management solution for ISM.
3. Secure Digital Vaults for Aged Care and Healthcare Data in the Cloud (Axiom Connected):
This project involves researching and developing a secure digital vault solution for managing sensitive data from elderly care patients. I train the team to research on data security measures, privacy regulations, and cloud-based storage solutions. The project aims to explore technologies and techniques to ensure the safe transportation, storage, and access of the collected data, ultimately contributing to improved patient care.
4. Electric Vehicle Sensitive Data Transport, Storage, and Privileged Access (Axiom Connected):
The research activities in this project is concentrated on addressing the challenges related to sensitive personal data collected by electric vehicles. This includes exploring data security solutions that comply with privacy laws in different countries such as Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The research would revolve around data privacy, access control, and data integrity, aiming to provide a secure and compliant framework for managing electric vehicle data.
Overall, the project activities and my research activities encompass database design, knowledge management evaluation, data security, privacy compliance, and cloud-based solutions. By supervising the teams in conducting these projects with industry partners I am contributing to the development of effective and secure systems for data management and information sharing in various sectors.
