A heatwave is a prolonged period of excessively warm weather,
“In the Hunter Valley, a heat event is considered as series of days over 35 °C or a single day over 40 °C”.
“In South Australia, heatwave is either 5 consecutive days with maximum daily temperatures above 35o C, or 3 consecutive days with maximum daily temperatures above 40oC
In NSW in general, 3 days above a given threshold - 90th percentile (BOM)
