The purpose of this study is to obtain perspectives from paramedics on their role in resuscitation teams within rural emergeny departments. While there is a growing body of research exploring interprofessional collaboration within the hospital setting, there is a paucity of literature that includes paramedics within these teams. By obtaining paramedic perspectives, there may be several key themes highlighted, including the requirement for policies and procedures that delegate specific roles in these teams, provide legal protection for paramedics when working in this environment, and demonstrate the potential benefits of training and education programs involving both paramedics and other healthcare professionals to promote interprofessional collaboration.
