Port Macquarie Base Hospital Collaborative Clinical Placement Model

Description

A new Clinical Engagement Model (CEM) was established as a partnership with Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH) and the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences CSU Port Macquarie Campus. The CEM provides guaranteed 14 WPL places to successful applicants. This CEM will be on a competitive process and will be applied for by Port Macquarie CSU students in the 1st year of study each year.
The aim of the Model is to strengthen a sense of belonging and familiarity with PMBH and NSW Health; support rapid transition to professional practice and grow the local nursing workforce from local students. All clinical Workplace Learning (WPL) placements will be undertaken at the PMBH by the successful applicants. A transition to Graduate Practice Program position will be opened to the completing students with the PMBH.
