Description
This research followed a pilot study exploring the value of enacting resilience as an essential skill of professional communication practice. This research with emerging professionals validated the experiences of the professionals in the pilot study. Unlike students in other high risk professions such as emergency services, health and social work, communication students do not receive training in personal resilience as a core professional skill, despite the expectations they have in industry to be on the front line in communication responses to challenging issues and complex problems. The feedback from participants in CSUEdX forum added to the insights about how we could embed resilience skills into an academic context more purposfuly.
