Sports rorts and public accountability: why Bridget McKenzie took so long to resign. Open Forum, 7 February 2020.

Activity: Engagement case studiesCommunity

Description

A contribution to public information and debate informed by my research on liberal democracy.

This activity is complex because it involves the collection, explanation, interpretation, and presentation of diverse and contested theoretical ideas. It is complex because it translates theoretically difficult concepts into easily understandable terms for a non-specialist audience and applies them to questions of contemporary public policy. It is complex because it draws on ideas developed through my research published over several years. This means that time and effort cannot be quantified with precision but that it is, nevertheless, substantial. The diversity of end-users may be assumed from the publication's national standing and international reach. The engagement plans and briefings occurred with the commissioning editor.
