Validating the bone scan guidelines for newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients in Singapore

Activity: Supervision/Examination/MentoringInternal HDR Supervision

Description

Bone scan (BS) is the investigation of choice to diagnose prostate cancer bone metastasis for staging. Despite
the wide use of bone scans to stage prostate cancers, there is a lack of consensus regarding their use in
clinical practice and imaging guidelines. In Singapore, clinicians can choose to follow different guidelines when
referring newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients for whole-body bone scans. This study aims to identify the
most suitable bone scan imaging guidelines for patients in Singapore.
