WEL426 - Disaster recovery in human services module revision

Description

Research on disaster practice findings reinforced the need to integrate knowledge and skills into mainstream social work education and professional practice. I have revised the first three modules to position disaster preparedness within mainstream practice (relevant to all practitioners), rather than as a specific field of practice. I am also integrating more detail about the practical applications of disaster practice to reinforce the notion that all social workers need to be engaging in disaster practice, regardless of their field of practice. This process is ongoing.
