DescriptionJohne’s disease, a bacterial illness, has led to massive economic losses for dairy producers worldwide. With no effective treatments or vaccines available to fight this disease, researchers are looking to genetics to find a solution.

This article published in Milk Producer, Canada's largest Dairy magazine, describes the research being done to address this issue. Dr. Niel Karrow is supervising this research, which is being conducted in partnership with collaborators worldwide, including Dr. Sameer Pant from Charles Sturt University in Australia, Dr. Kieran Meade from the Teagasc Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation Centre in Ireland and Dr. Nathalie Bissonnette from the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec.
