Subject: Charles Sturt News | Free access to our libraries: university opens its doors to help Year 12 students study for the HSC
Free access to our libraries: university opens its doors to help Year 12 students study for the HSC – issued Wednesday 25 September 2024
• Charles Sturt University has opened its campus libraries to Year 11 and 12 students to help prepare for HSC exams
• The University also provides a Guide for HSC Students -a free online resource to assist with exam preparations
• The study resources hope to give every student equal opportunity to succeed
Charles Sturt University is opening its doors to Year 11 and 12 students to give them the best chance at success for their HSC exams.
The University will open its libraries across its Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo and Port Macquarie campuses, as well as online, to allow students free access to study spaces and educational materials.
Lecturer in Education in the Charles Sturt School of Education Mr Paul Grover said the access complements the Charles Sturt Guide for HSC Students, a free online resource hosted and curated by the University’s library team.
“This is an open-access library guide providing tailored support for HSC students to be able to put their best foot forward when tackling their exams,” Mr Grover said.
“By providing this one-stop-shop for exam revision and support, we’re ensuring every student, no matter their background or current situation, has equal access to prepare and get the best start possible for their future university pathways.”
The Guide covers all the major HSC subjects, from Mathematics, English and Science, through to Aboriginal Studies, Modern History and the Study of Religion.
Year 11 students are also able to access the support as they prepare to begin their final year studies.
Mr Grover said the joint offering of the Guide and physical study spaces and materials is one of the many ways the University supports the next generation of Charles Sturt students.
“We are dedicated to providing quality, university-curated learning resources for students in Year 11 and 12 to support their research and study in all major subject areas of their HSC studies,” he said.
“We are also aiming to motivate and encourage these students to take the next step in their educational journeys beyond high school as they consider studying at Charles Sturt University.”
The campus libraries are open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
