Ann researches the sociology of work, knowledge and religion. Working across disciplines from the themes of her post graduate work, she is interested in the ethical and social implications of power, wealth and education. Utilising funding won through the Liveable Communities FACS initiative, she leads a cross-faculty team of researchers (Rural Resilience Research Collaboative) in the positive deviance of ageing that also informs her teaching portfolio. She is also working on a non-fiction narrative monograph, the first in a series on Jewish female intellectuals. The research for these books is conducted in the archives of the British Library, Cambridge University Library, and the Jewish National Archives, as part of her appointment as a visiting scholar to the London School of Economics, 2016 and 2018.
