Dr. Ross is a tenured Professor of Medicine with the Rural Health Research Institute at Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia. His expertise and research interests lie in the realm of community medicine, rural and remote health, global health, enteric diseases, disease control, pandemic planning, and vaccination. Professor Ross completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology (B.Sc., 1990) and a Masters of Science (M.Sc., 1994) in Human Biology in Canada before proceeding to Brisbane, Australia where he completed a Doctorate in Tropical Health (Ph.D., 1998) with High Distinction and Vice Chancellor Commendation, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S., Honors, 2005), Doctorate of Medicine (M.D., 2010) and a Doctorate of Medical Science (D.Sc., 2017) through the University of Queensland. In 2023 he completed a Masters of Medicine in Internal Medicine (M.Med., IM) with Distinction through the University of Sydney. He is the author or co-author on over 175 international peer-reviewed publications, reviews and book chapters with a Google h-index of 50 and over 9100 citation. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP, Edin), Fellow of the Royal College of Pathology in the United Kingdom (FRCPath, UK), Fellow of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine (FACTM), Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales (FRS, NSW) .
