Amandeep Singh, Research Fellow of Rural Public Health at the Rural Health Research Institute (RHRI), brings a wealth of research experience in diverse areas. Amandeep Singh has research experience in the synthesis of various nanomaterials, optoelectronic device manufacturing and portable device (sensing platform) development. Following the completion of his PhD at Queensland University of Technology, Amandeep worked as a postdoctoral fellow at both QUT and Griffith University for a total of 2 years. During this time, he focused on multiple projects. At QUT, Amandeep contributed to a defence project centred around the development of a sensor platform capable of detecting harmful gaseous components. At Griffith University, his efforts were dedicated to the creation of a portable platform technology for pathogen detection. His research endeavours have not only garnered attention within the academic community but have also attracted industry collaboration and investment. Within his current role at RHRI, Amandeep is developing portable and handheld sensing platforms for disease and pathogen detection. Additionally, he has a keen interest in image learning with Python and the exploration of advanced functional materials derived from waste. Beyond his professional pursuits, Amandeep finds joy in running and staying active.
