Personal profile

I am an environmental scientist and GIS specialist with a strong background in landscape management and spatial analysis. I graduated with distinction from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management (Ecology & Conservation) and later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science, also with distinctions.

I have grown up and lived on Biripai Country on the NSW Mid North Coast, where my connection to the landscape has shaped a lifelong passion for plants and conservation. This passion extends to my involvement as a member of the Australian Native Orchid Society and the Australian Flora Foundation.

With almost 15 years of experience in local government, I have held diverse roles spanning GIS, horticulture, and vocational education as a Trainer and Assessor. This multidisciplinary experience has honed my expertise in environmental management, sustainable urban design, fire and landscape ecology, and spatial science.

Currently, I am undertaking postgraduate research investigating the impacts of urbanisation on coastal headland vegetation. My work focuses on the ecological consequences of altered fire regimes, examining how the cessation of fire influences vegetation dynamics, woody plant encroachment, and fire risk. Through this research, I aim to inform management strategies that support biodiversity conservation and mitigate environmental risks in urban–natural interface landscapes.
