Angela is a senior lecturer in sociology at Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Wagga Wagga NSW Australia. Born and raised in New York City, she completed a PhD (Sociology) and two Masters (Sociology and Science & Technology Studies) degrees at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg VA and a BA (Honours, Psychology) from St Francis College in Brooklyn NY. Prior to academia Angela worked at JP Morgan, the United Nations Children's Fund and several law firms. Having taught sociology, psychology, politics and science and technology studies at the university-level since 1997, she migrated to Australia in 2002 and has since been employed at four Australian universities (CSU, Griffith, University of New England, Queensland University of Technology). 

Author of 3 books, two edited collections, Rural lifestyles, community well-being and social change: Lessons from country Australia for global citizens, and Interaction in Communication Technologies & Virtual Learning Environments: Human Factors and one sole-authored social science research book titled, Writing for the social sciences, Angela has extensive writing and editing experience and also is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal, Rural Society: Journal of global research into rural social problems and sustainable communities.

Angela has been awarded four competitive research fellowships from the Institute for Land, Water, & Society and the Faculty of Arts and has held several senior roles including Associate Head of School (Humanities & Social Sciences), Committee Chair (School Research Committee, University Sustainability Graduate Learning Outcomes, Campus Environmental Committee), Sociology Discipline Coordinator, Course Coordinator BA(Honours) and Sociology BA(Honours), and has served as a Member on several committees (Sustainability Advisory Group, Faculty Research & Graduate Studies Committee, University Scholarship Committee, Ally Train-the-Trainer GLBTIQ Program Leader, and the Wagga Wagga City Council Environmental Advisory Committee).
