Belinda completed a BRuSc (Hons) from the University of New England before joining the NSW Department of Agriculture (now Industry & Investment NSW) as a Technical Officer. The main focus of her work was a project aimed at optimising returns from fertiliser input in landscapes with variable topography.

Belinda was employed as Research Agronomist (Pastures) in 2003, with much of her research involved in the National Annual Pasture Legume Improvement Program (NAPLIP) and the perennial grass evaluation component of the CRC for Plant-Based Management of Dryland Salinity. She has recently had a research project funded by Pastures Australia, which will utilise the legumes developed under NAPLIP and incorporate them into farming systems.

Research Interests

Pasture research - particularly in areas of perennial grass, annual legume and perennial legume research for medium and higher rainfall areas.

  • Agronomy and management of new annual legumes (Pastures Australia)
  • Alternative methods for harvesting subterranean clover seed crops (Rural industries Research and Development Corporation - RIRDC)
  • Understanding and managing variation in pasture growth (PhD through University of Sydney)
