Casey has held an academic position within the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare at Charles Sturt University since 2020. With a specialisation and background in Emergency Nursing clinical education, Casey has professionally endeavoured to develop the transition to specialty practice program to promote the transition of new nurses to the specialty practice of Emergency Nursing.
This passion has become the topic of her current Masters by Coursework minor thesis which is due to be complete in December 2024. This Qualitative Descriptive study will explore Nurses' experiences and perceptions of an emergency transition to practice program in a regional Australian hospital.
Both experiences and interest in supporting and educating new nurses, has translated well to her current role as an associate lecturer in the Bachelor of Nursing.
