Personal profile

Personal profile

Currently living in Wodonga, VIC and working as an academic at Charles Sturt University.

Teaching

Currently teaching anatomy in BMS271 and BMS224.

Research Interests

My research interests are in anatomical education, in particular the development and implementation of innovative approaches to teach and learn anatomy for internal and online students. I also encourage and role-model the use of innovative approaches to learn "beyond the classroom" - at home or in the real world.

Professional Information

I am a traditionally trained anatomist and I have great passion and enthusiasm for teaching anatomy.

I use hands-on, non-didactice approaches and my aim is not to teach students anatomical facts, but rather to teach then "how to learn anatomy".  I aim to take students from superficial learning (memorization) to deep learning through understanding and the ability to place information into a broad, big picture which makes it relevant to the students' realities.

I endeavour to make my classes fun and engaging to motivate and encourage student participation.
