Associate Professor Dianne McGrath's research has focused on two areas - corporate social responsibility; and accounting education, particularly the development of the hidden curriculum of generic skills in undergraduate accounting programs. The branch of accounting research Dianne has chosen, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), embeds itself in an ideal of ethical behaviour and reflects current concerns with climate change, environmental damage and corporate ethics arising from recent corporate collapses and the global financial crisis. Her particular interest is in the sphere of governance and sustainability in regionally based credit unions. A reporting model she developed was published in Social Accounting and Public Management, a book which discusses the development of the knowledge and theory of the nature of 'accountability' in contemporary global society and the challenges it poses for public policy and management.
