Dr Libbey Murray is the Associate Head of School - Assessment. Dr Murray has taught on the Dubbo campus since 2008. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and Doctor of Philosophy degrees through CSU, and taught in primary schools in Central West New South Wales. Dr Murray teaches a range of subjects both on campus and via distance to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her research interests include examining children's social and emotional adjustment to kindergarten, transition to and readiness for formal schooling, child stress and anxiety, the teacher-child relationship, parent-teacher relationships, and quality teaching and learning environments. Dr Murray is interested in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and in particular, working with children to examine issues of concern for them as they make the transition to formal schooling. She has recently undertaken analyses using data from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children to examine academic and social trajectories for young children prior to school, and issues surrounding parent-teacher communication and parent involvement, and in other research, uses in-depth analyses of children's drawings to examine their relationship with teachers across the first year of school.
