Personal profile

Personal profile

I have been teaching with CSU since 2019 and prior to this I taught for 4 years with Monash University in Melbourne. I bring to you extensive experience as an ICP, spanning a 17 year career with St John New Zealand, starting as a volunteer and working up to ICP level. During that time, I did the Extended Care Paramedic training as I was involved in a pilot programme with a District Health Board where they placed an ICP in a rural ED to help overcome staff shortages. I have also worked on the local rescue helicopter when I was based in Taupo and Palmerston North. I took two years off and did aid work in Kygyzstan (Central Asia) teaching rural ambulance workers (called Felchers) emergency medicine and working with homeless in the capital city. Currently I still work with local Iwi (Maori tribe) where I live, teaching first aid and health promotion.
