Professor Tina Du is the Head of the School of Information and Communication Studies and a full Professor of Information Sciences at Charles Sturt University in New South Wales, Australia. Prior to this, she was a Professorial Lead at the University of South Australia.

Tina’s research interests are interdisciplinary in nature, exploring user-technology interactions, community engagement, information journey, emerging technologies and social impacts, and data governance and privacy. Her research work has been supported by national and international competitive research grants, attracted more than $1.9M in the Australian Research Council, and government and industry research funding, and yielded more than 140 publications. She has supervised 22 PhD students and 8 postdocs and research assistants.

Tina was awarded the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC DECRA), a visiting research fellowship at the University of Oxford, the South Australian Young Tall Poppy of Science Award, and the Winnovation Award, among many other awards and honours. She was recognised as the national field leader in Library & Information Science and a top 50 researcher in the Engineering & Computer Science Discipline by The Australian’s Research Magazine in 2020. She has received 6 best paper awards. Tina has served as a chair of the Research Advisory Committee of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), and Director-at-Large, Board of Directors of the international Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T).
