Personal profile
Keden is a Registered Nurse who has maintained clinical roles across regional, rural and remote Australia, East Timor and Samoa. Keden has worked as a Nurse with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Central and Western Operations, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, and with the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre, Darwin.
Keden began an academic career in 2017 and is currently the Assistant Head of School- Nursing, in the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences, at Charles Sturt University. Keden is also a committee member with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Keden is a PhD Candidate who aims to improve the retention and completion rates of regional, rural and remote students studying online. Keden is passionate about exploring the intersectional challenges facing students located in rural and remote Australia, supporting 'grow your own' health workforce initiatives for sustainable and secure health workforce development.
Keden is currently working on a number of research projects that Partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics, researchers, students, communities and organisations and is very interested in interprofessional research opportunities.
