Maumita Bhattacharya is an academic in Computing at the School of Computing, Mathematics & Engineering, Charles Sturt University, Australia. As an academic, Maumita has been involved in teaching and research in various domains of Computer Science and Engineering. Maumita's research is broadly focused on the following two domains: Computational Intelligence (CI) and Cyber Security. She has authored/co-authored over sixty five research publications, including peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books etc. in top tier platforms in the fields of computational intelligence and cyber security. Maumita has served as an associate editor/editorial board member for a number of journals, including the following: Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences, Springer [Scopus Q1 ranked journal]. She has also guest edited special issues for reputed journals and serves on the scientific committees of several conferences on a regular basis.

Research Interests

Her research in Computational Intelligence primarily focuses on designing and enhancing CI techniques and applying them to complex problem solving in domains, including, Big Data Optimization, Engineering Design Optimization, Cyber Security, Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery, and Socio-computing Systems.

Maumita’s research interests in Cyber Security include: Computational Intelligence (AI) for building robust and resilient Cyber Security systems, Electronic Fraud (eFraud) detection, Human Dimensions of Cyber Security etc.
