Personal profile

I am Melissa Woodhouse, an academic lecturer at the university, known for my kind and caring nature, as well as my commitment to honesty, respect, and approachability. With a strong foundation in organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, I am confident in my ability to work independently and as an integral part of nursing, midwifery, or multidisciplinary teams. My mission is to ensure that healthcare is delivered holistically, fostering a cohesive team approach that centers on women's needs, empowerment, safety, and flexibility.

My passion lies in providing excellent patient-centered care within a safe and supported environment, always mindful of the diverse needs of each individual client. As an educator, I take pride in imparting evidence-based best practices to bachelor of nursing students and postgraduate diploma of midwifery students, nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

I believe in providing current, evidence-based care to patients and their families, offering individualized, women-led continuity of care throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postnatal period.

I am dedicated to making a positive impact on the healthcare community and look forward to continuing my journey of nurturing and empowering both students and women in need of care.
