Dr. Nicola Ivory is a lecturer at the School of Psychology at Charles Sturt University. Nicola completed her undergraduate degree in psychology with honors and her PhD from Deakin University. Her PhD research focused on the associations between reinforcement sensitivity and coping behaviours in alcohol use, exploring how personality and cognitive factors such as coping styles and drinking motives contribute to hazardous alcohol use.
Nicola joined Charles Sturt University in 2022 and has a diverse teaching portfolio that includes courses in research methods, statistics, foundations of psychology, personality, and cognitive psychology. Her primary research interests encompass drug and alcohol use, addictive behaviors, and neurobiological models of personality, particularly within the context of Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory.
