Niloofar Solhjoo (Niloo) is an information scientist from Iran specializing in human-animal information engagements, information behaviour studies, and animal health information services. She holds a B.S. in Library and Information Science, an M.S. in Knowledge and Information Management, and a Ph.D. in Information Systems. Her research explores how humans and nonhuman animals shape shared understanding through loving, living, and learning together. A pioneer in Multispecies Information Science, Niloofar has a strong interest in qualitative research methods, including sensory ethnography and phenomenology.
Niloofar has collaborated with various international groups at the intersection of information and animals, including the Association for Veterinary Informatics (AVI), the International Conference of Animal Health Information Specialists (ICAHIS), the European Veterinary Libraries Group, and the Symposium of Exploring Human-Animal & Multispecies Relations: Risk Taking in Research Methods.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
