Dr. Podugu is a clinical psychologist and AHPRA registered Clinical Supervisor. Dr. Podugu has over 25 years of experience in tertiary education, Public Hospitals, Psychogeriatric settings and University Psychology Clinics in New Zealand, Australia and India. His educational background includes M.A. (Psych), MPhil(Med. & Social Psych) and PhD in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Podugu is a registered clinical psychologist both in Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Podugu is a Member of APS, New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and a Fellow of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. Dr. Podugu was involved in the establishment of Memory Service at MHSOP, Waikato Hospital, New Zealand. Dr. Podugu is an active project team of “Pathways to Healthy Ageing”, an interdisciplinary collaborative research group at RMIT University, Melbourne. Dr. Podugu is also a member of the Ageing Well Group of Charles Sturt University.
Dr. Podugu has been teaching courses including CBT, specialist clinical interventions, Adult psychological assessment, Adult Psychopathology and Cultural Aspects of mental health. His special interests include clinical geropsychology, Dementias, cultural aspects of Health and Illness. Dr. Podugu has experience in bicultural and multicultural clinical settings with insights into multicultural competence.
