Personal profile

Dr Prue Gonzalez is a Lecturer in Environmental Management and Course Director in the School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences. Her work explores how we navigate the complex and diverse interactions between people, space and place. The science disciplines are diverse, and future practice is equally as diverse: complex, interdisciplinary, dynamic and challenging. Since 2010, Prue has specialised in teaching first-year students with a focus on the critical phase of student transition into university. Building students’ skills to navigate the complex environment is essential; supporting academic staff in this process is critical.

Over the last five years, Prue has been seconded to University-wide Learning & Teaching projects in support of sessional academic staff development and strengthening student retention and success. Prue has successfully led and coordinated projects at Charles Sturt University, developing collaborative processes and working to strict reporting timelines, bringing skills in qualitative methodologies, systematic reviews, benchmarking and team-based research. In addition to conducting research and teaching, Prue is involved in a number of programs and is happy to serve on committees that align and inform her research.
