Research Interests

Dr Wang's research objective is to apply science to develop strategies to improve human and animal health in rural and urban communities. Dr Wang takes two intertwined approaches: 1), understand biology of ageing 2), develop ageing modulation strategies for better health including lifestyle and socioeconomic factors and pharmaceuticals. These approaches are underpinned by pragmatist research philosophy.

HDR and Honours Supervision:

  • PhD (ongoing): The use of social media platforms to communicate suicidality by young people and its implications in rural and remote New South Wales.
  • PhD (ongoing): Human milk and gut development & behaviour
  • Honours (ongoing): Brain electrical activities change during ageing
  • PhD (Completed and graduated in 2018): Paradoxes of factors influencing maternal health outcomes in rural northern Ghana.
  • PhD (Completed and graduated in 2021): Gene expressions of carbohydrates metabolites and the bioactive compounds in aging modulations during pea (Pisum sativum L.) germinating; (An international joint PhD supervision program)
  • Honours First Class (Completed and graduated in 2019, Principal supervisor): Musculoskeletal symptoms among adult smartphone and tablet device users: a retrospective study.
