Tegan is currently an associate lecturer in paramedicine at CSU Bathurst. She is dually trained as a registered nurse and registered paramedic in Australia. She worked as an ACP2 in Queensland for seven years in metropolitan, regional and remote parts of the state. Most notably as a single responder in multiple remote locations of northern and western Queensland. She completed completed her dual undergraduate qualifications with ACU Brisbane. She gained a Graduate Certificate in Training and Development with Griffith University in 2020, before being awarded her Master of Education and Professional Studies (Research) in 2023.
Teaching
Tegan began full-time academic employment with Charles Sturt University in 2022 at the Bathurst campus. She has taught across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in paramedicine. She is also supervising a paramedicine honours student.
Personal profile
Tegan is passionate about mentoring in the paramedicine domain. As an oucome of her Masters Degree, she researched extensively into the current mentoring practices of paramedics in Queensland, highlighting the lack of formal mentor training in paramedicine. She hopes to develop a paramedic mentor training program unique to be implemented into ambulance services around the country.
