Virginia was a member of the New South Wales Police Force between 1979 and 1998, working on general duties and in various specialist commands prior to working as an Education & Development Officer training police in the general duties field. In 2010 Virginia commenced employment with Charles Sturt University as a lecturer teaching on Ethics, Communications, Traffic and Law. Since 2015, Virginia has worked on the UCWE Course as a lecturer.
Virginia holds a Masters Degree and a Graduate Certificate in Professional Education & Training, and a Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessment.
