Yangi Uchalla is a Workplace Learning Academic and Coordinator at CSU in the School of Social Work and Arts. Yangi has an Honours degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Yangi’s Honour’s thesis is titled – ‘The Challenges facing single female parents of African background in regional Australia’

Yangi has experience working with children and young people, refugees and migrants, people living with dementia (and their carers) and people living with cancer (and their carers). Yangi has worked in Social Work and Human Services Field Education in different roles over several years and enjoys sharing her practice knowledge and skills with students whilst supporting their learning. Authenticity, inclusion, kindness and collaboration are central to Yangi’s teaching and research.

Yangi lives and works on Wiradjuri Country, in Wagga Wagga.
