C22-00224: Ransomware resilient file safe havens

Prize: GrantSuccessful

Description

Ransomware attacks have been evolving rapidly as COVID restrictions forced many to work virtually. In May 2021, the Colonial Pipeline facility in Pelham, Alabama and the multinational JBS Foods largest fresh meat processor were forced to shut down their productions at multiple sites locally and globally due to ransomware cyberattacks. This project aims to develop and demonstrate a file safe-haven against ransomware where files can be read and written but cannot be maliciously encrypted.
