Technological advances in privacy preserving data sharing such as homomorphic encryption, which allows data mining on encrypted data, have demonstrated that they lead to many potential benefits including sharing of clinical data (while preserving data privacy) to improve healthcare quality. Yet with current levels of concern about data privacy, there is currently a lack of research to study whether technological solutions would be adopted by the healthcare sector in Australia. This study aims to gain an understanding of current attitudes and levels of trust in the technological solutions for the privacy preserving data sharing in the healthcare sector in Australia and determine if technological solutions to privacy preserving data sharing would be trusted and adopted.
