Abstract
The study provides a unique insight into the implications for the health services and rural communities of three successive organisational changes. As the first oral history taken on Australian rural health service managers, the findings identify the value of collecting the oral recollections for the health management profession, the health industry, educators and the rural health sector. The memories of these events and times have been preserved in this study, through the voices of the participants.
