Abstract
This session will include a review of the literature exploring the quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when guided by no metronome versus a metronome. This was a systematic literature review that identified 20 journal articles of interest across four databases. Four key themes were developed;similarities and differences in the findings of CPR efficacy when using a metronome during CPR versus no metronome; combined use of a metronome with a visual feedback device for CPR procedure; dispatcher assisted CPR with a metronome; and physiologic responses and fatigue during CPR with and without a metronome.
