Abstract

Modern society has been profoundly impacted by technological advancements, revolutionizing various industries such as banking, hospitality, and education. Particularly in education, technology plays a crucial role, with its significance further amplified by the Covid-19 epidemic, which has increased demand for online learning. According to literature studies, countries prioritizing the IT revolution benefit from the rewards of the industrialization era.
This study sheds light on Kosova’s deficiency in computer applications and IT integration within its educational system. Notably, there is a significant disparity in the emphasis on IT between public and private educational institutions. Private-sector educational prioritize IT integration into their curriculum more than public ones. For instance, when comparing the public and private universities in terms of the level of computer knowledge use, a significant percentage of respondents from the private universities stated proficiency in computer use, contrasting with the public universities. Moreover, it has been noted that the level of computer integration in the curriculum of the public educational institutions is significantly lower compared to secondary institutions or universities. When assessing the use of computer in the secondary public schools compared to the public primary schools, significant differences were observed. Specifically, there was a higher rate of presence of computer in public secondary institutions, which is in contrasts to the lower presence observed in public primary schools. A similar trend has also been observed in computer practice hours and knowledge levels.
In private universities, a noteworthy percentage of respondents’ express uncertainty about their educational institution’s computer availability, which highlights deviations from the public educational institutions. However, both the public and private sectors perceive computer availability at a low level. This suggests a substantial integration of computers into university curricula.
The data analysis for this study was collected through in-person surveys carried out at colleges and schools across Kosova. The conclusions of this study were derived through the application of scientific research methodologies, including literature review, questionaries, and data analysis. This study significantly contributes to relevant research areas by shedding light on key aspects of IT integration and education in post-conflict regions like Kosova.
