An introduction to the Strengths Approach

Abstract

This paper (one of three) provides a foundation for the Research Symposium, "Strengths Approaches in Early Childhood Mathematics Education" by providing an overview of the development of strengths-based approaches in social work and education. A framework, adapted from the Strengths Approach (McCashen, 2017), for applying a strengths-based approach in early childhood mathematics education is introduced.
