    Abstract

This thesis developed the Diversity Management Competency Model based on a comprehensive review of the literature. The model consists of four quadrants which include competencies for understanding self, understanding others, workplace analysis and workplace application. The results indicated that managers have a "Moderate" level of competencies in the first quadrant and a "Low" level of competencies in the other three quadrants. The findings of the thesis will enable organisations to improve the effective management of workplace diversity.
