Abstract
Despite previous research, the impact of Information Communication Technology (ICT) on acompany's performance is yet to be found. This paper analyses the Resource Based View argumentthat ICT only has the potential to influence a company's performance in interaction with otherstrategic resources. This research focused on interactions between factors from technological, individual, organisational and environmental contexts. Also considered is the ICT effects that interactwith other factors and that emerge as a result of these interactions. Based on the conceptualisation ofan ICT value creation system, and analysis of interactions within such a system, we find thatemergence of ICT value depends on strength and direction of interdependencies and interactionsamong the system's components.
