Abstract

On the assumption that the global challenges facing humanity in the Anthropocene comprise some of the most pressing perplexities for public theology in the twenty-first century, this study focuses on apocalypse as a determinative biblical resource for making sense of the Anthropocene in theological terms and for nurturing a particular kind of hope in what threatens to be a bleak future.
